A Fine February Photo Shoot

Heather and Tommy have a little secret place at the Kentucky Horse Park. Wendy and I had never notice it, even though we had been right by this location dozens of times.
I can't tell you where it is, it's a secret... lol. But I can share a picture or two.
And I can tell you that is was a "very cool" photo shoot this fine February afternoon. Like 27 degrees! The shoot was divided into two days, you can only pretend to be warm for so long.
We started at the Horse Park...

That was all the coolness we could handle for one morning... we decided to grab some lunch and meet again the next day.
It warmed up for Sunday.. 33 degrees! Talon Winery was our next great spot.

And finally, after a few attempts, we came away with a great finishing shot. It's a good thing that both Heather and Tommy are hearty (and athletic) souls. You guys rock!

Megan & David.. Winter Engagements at Keeneland

Our photography season was extended a little this year thanks so unseasonably mild days.
Megan and David hooked up with us in late December for a lovely engagement shoot at Keeneland. And although the wedding is not until Fall of 2013, Megan likes to check things off of her list. We have a feeling that their wedding is going to be perfect!

Megan and David have known each other since high-school, but it was not until college at Morehead did they realize they they were meant for each other. Once they get their studies complete, they will tie the knot on their life together.
Congratulations to you both!

Ashley & Bryan's Christmastime Wedding!

Wendy and I feel very fortunate to have been part of Ashley and Bryan's wedding.
And in truth, we've been getting to know them since last summer. I told Bryan that we felt like we should have been IN the wedding party instead of documenting it...lol.

Once we earned their confidence, they were up for anything. I think they really enjoyed getting unexpected shots with us. Like this first sighting in Gratz Park. Wendy's shots, below, show the true joy on Ashley's face as she first saw Bryan on their wedding day. You just can't pose this.

It all started with the engagement session.
We suggested creating "something dynamic", and they said "go for it". So... we took them downtown to Main Street, asked them to take off their shoes and walk THROUGH the fountain. They did. The evening was something we will always remember.

An earlier stop at Keeneland..

...and Gratz Park.

It was easy to get nice shots with these guys. Even the Rehearsal dinner at Fasig Tipton turned out to be a good spot for photos.

Wonderful blue skies greeted us for the Wedding day. Again, is was easy to see the joy in the faces of the newlyweds.

And what a great wedding party. You would never know that is was only 40 degrees!

A few shots at Victorian Square..

The ceremony was held at First Christian Church on North Broadway. Beautiful!

It was a packed house for the reception at Equestrian Woods Clubhouse.

Bryan and Ashley are going to be spending many happy Christmas's together. You were meant for each other. Thanks you guys!

Several of Ashley & Bryan's photos grace the homepage slideshow on our Lexington Wedding Photography website!

Lindsay & Andrew... Happy Together!

We knew Lindsay & Andrew would be a lot of fun to work with from the day we met.
They love to live life, and they have lots of friends who know how to have fun too.

How many couples would think it's cool to have engagement photos in a tobacco barn? Lindsay and Andrew went along with our crazy ideas, and had some good ideas of their own.

After sunset at Talon Winery, we loaded up and headed to downtown Lexington. It was a Thursday Night Live scene at Cheapside Bar, where Lindsay and Andrew first met.

The wedding was October 15th, but the night before the wedding party rented out the 'Horse & Barrel', a great spot on Broadway that suited these guys perfectly.

Did I mention that these guys know how to have fun?

The wedding was a lovely mid October affair at Spring Valley Country Club. The ceremony was under the trees at dusk, and then on to the clubhouse for the reception.

Lindsay was accompanied to the alter by her father.

Thanks Lindsay and Andrew! Wendy and I were honored to be a part of your big days.
We feel like you guys will have a life of fun together, you were made for each other.
